My new apartment!

So today was a big day! I signed a lease for the tiniest little apartment on the upper east side and couldn't be more excited to get the keys and start decorating. The image below at right is my teeny living room, so I'm thinking I should add shelves to the left of the fireplace like the image at left from Domino. Now if only I could figure out where to put all my clothes...

How exciting! I'm so jealous! The thought of looking for another dull drab characterless aprtment in Hong Kong is really frustrating!

Thanks guys! I'm excited to post some pictures in the next few weeks :) And Suzy- I didn't realize there were so many characterless apts in Hong Kong! Why is that? I'm SURE you could make any space look spectacular ;)

suzy - have you looked in the soho area in Hong Kong? most of apts there are very old, but they might just be waht you are looking for. there are some buildings on Hennessy Road / Lockhart road where my friends live and they are pretty old school and interesting looking. :)

So many buildings in HK are 70's and don't really have much style (i.e. tiled flors throughout is not really my thing). Having said that though there are quite a few older buildings with original parquetry flooring, which is what we'll be looking for next time (can't wait!). Chloe, thanks for the suggestion..that is one area we are also looking at. Will keep you updated!

haha, Suzy, i did have tile floors in mind because i have seen so many old apts in HK with those (in movies too). things in HK get torn down and rebuilt like crazy... good luck with apartment hunting and show us some pics when u find a good place! I would love to see some of the rare finds in HK. (i m from HK, btw, and have lived in many character-less apts myself...) cheers!

Congrats on the new place! Your domino pix looks almost identical to your raw space...keep us posted on your decorating endeavors.

I found your blog for the first time through Decorno...love it!!! I hope you don't mind me adding you to my blogroll.

Happy New Year.

Thanks guys! I'm so flattered you are reading this and that you like my apartment! The movers come tomorrow (which is why I haven't blogged in about a century!!) so I can't wait to post pictures! I don't think I'll be painting due to how small the space is (I don't want it to look any smaller!) plus I have a ton of color and pattern in my accessories ;)

Welcome to the neighborhood! I'm on the Upper East Side too and also in a very tiny apartment! I look forward to seeing what you do with the place. I definitely vote for shelves too. You can hide the radiator with them too and give yourself some storage. Good Luck!

Habitually Chic- that's so great we're neighbors! We'll have to keep each other posted as to the design happenings in the area (as well as amazing sales;) Can't wait to show you what I do with the space once it's all done!
