Nothing makes my heart skip a beat quite like an organized shoe closet! So last week Patrick and I decided to shoot my favorite landing spot for shoes in my living room (above) as well as my closet door/favorite shoe organizer of all time below!

I spotted this rack in an issue of domino last year from Lowe's, and since I didn't live near one I figured I'd head into the Container Store to find something similar. Except they didn't have anything. So I tried Home Depot. Nothing! So finally I ordered the silly thing online and literally couldn't be happier with my decision. Instead of masking my shoes in slouchy canvas pockets, it proudly displays them like a mini shoe gallery inside my closet door. It also makes me take a hard look at the shoes I own, and only hang onto the ones I truly love and wear. (Like my favorites above:)

Here it is again in domino, above! I love the idea of hanging it on the wall with a curtain in front of it.

Here's what my closet would look like if I, um, had a closet! (just kidding, I do have one, but trust me she's tiny)

And finally here's what my future husband's closet will look like, if I have any say in the matter ;)

Okay, love your shoes. And seriously *heart* that double width panel over the closet in Domino. Gives a perfect peek-a-boo of pretty shoes.
Delightful post!
This post makes me out to go out and buy all new shoes for spring! :)
What is that bench, table ...thingy madeout of in your hallway..I love it!
Thanks guys! The "pouf" in my living room is actually made out of leather. I got it as a press gift from Manuela Testolini of Altru candles http://www.altrubygamillah.com/ and she actually picked it up in a market in Egypt! I've seen similar versions at a store in New York called Timbuktu (212) 473-4955.
good timing with this post! great idea to put the shoe rack on the wall w/ a curtain! might have to keep that in mind for my new apt!
I love your shoes, you have great taste in beautiful shoes! I think its great how you have them displayed on the outside of your closet, I mean they all are works of art so why not show them off!
love the pics MA! even though im barfing fire with jealousy over the fact that you not only have a space in your apartment to "kick off your shoes" but have a closet in general. grrrrr.
Yurdan.com has GREAT leather poufs for $25 EACH and they are real leather, ivy lane. They aren't as detailed as the amazing one shown here, but they are super nice.
Great post!
Love the photos! That pouf is to die for and love your greek key rug too!
cute, cute!! love those yellows heels...j crew??!
Don't forget the valet rod for the future husband's future closet... he will appreciate it.
What woman doesn't love shoes and displaying them like works of art is so appropriate. I always look at a man's shoes and can tell a lot about him. I think you can also read a person like a book by looking into their closet.
You have an awesome taste!! I absolutely love your shoes. Want to see few of them in my closet.
great post! where is that awesome blue rug with the greek key from? i am suck a sucker for flatweave rugs....
I can't wait to hear more about the availability of Patrick's photographs!
Where oh where did you get that beautiful lamp in the first picture? I am in love !
That first photo makes me swoon! I love it! :)
