For the record

Over the past few months as word of Lonny has spread, kind bloggers and journalists worldwide have given me some very amazing, but very undeserved titles in reference to my former position at domino. As I've stated in interviews and here on my blog, I was the low man on the totem pole, a "market assistant," working under senior market editors Kate Townsend and Tori Mellott. At first I giggled when articles popped up stating that I was the former "market editor" or "stylist" and even once calling me the "marketING editor" (um, what the heck is that?!) but as these titles begin to appear on more and more sites I just want to make it clear that I was the little guy, and I'm damn proud of it ;)

Whatever your position, you brought the spirit of Domino with you :-). But, it's great that you gave props to all the wonderful people you worked with (or under, whatever...), I am sure they appreciate it.

teehee! i LOVE that. we indeed were the lowly footsoldiers, essential nonetheless, but certainly not the head honchos. kudos to you for being the bigger person and owning up to our true natures! in the meantime, i've given you a wee award, here's the link: http://www.urbanfleadesign.net/2009/10/honest-scrap-paying-it-forward.html Hope you enjoy, and pay it forward!

Ha! This made me smile, dear. The base is just as important as the top, so regardless, congrats on all of your success.

(And you may have already gone over this, but I'm relatively new here... After meeting with all these folks over the last week...is there any chance Lonny might go to print at some point?)

it's amazing how influential things can be when you just WORK somewhere influential. i've had the same thing happen to me...i work at a major fashion house and started out as the ASSISTANT to the world wide VP of marketing...and rumors were actually going around in my home town that i WAS the ww vp of mktg! ha! regardless, you've done a great job with lonny so far and have the talent and potential of a sr editor for sure! keep up the good work!

Don't worry! Everyone got my titles wrong too! It happens - but you've dealt with it the best way there is. AND - you obviously have great talent!

Seems to me that whenever someone has respect for someone's work, titles and accomplishments get inflated by the admirer. Just shows that they see big things on the horizon! Kudos to you for working your butt off, learning from those above you, and clearing your conscience!

That is very inspiring. Good for you! Shows you don't necessarily need years of experience to branch out (In fact, I sometimes think that can hinder you, because you get into the more corporate mindset.)

PS - I know I'm VERY late to this post, but enjoyed it so much I had to comment.
